How to tell if zfs receive finished correctly

I did a zfs send | zfs recv to copy a snapshot off my server to an external drive. However, my web session logged out before I could see if the command finished successfully. Is there a way to tell if it's complete, or compare the two snapshots to ensure it's valid?

If the snapshot is visible on the destination ( zfs list -t snapshot), the process completed successfully.
