Hi,
as I am using virtualbox with several ubuntu machines on my freenas machine and this will no longer work with 9.10.2 I decided to move to iohyve.
I was able to do the basic setup and also able to install a VM with debian.
But: how is it possible to move my old virtualbox machines into iohyve? I have the .vdi files and read that these have to converted to raw files with qemu but I was not able to get qemu running in freenas and even if how to continue?
Can somebody describe the way from virtualbox to iohyve or maybe point me to some helping sites/videos/...?

Many thanks,
Marco

Hi m0nkey_,
I already saw your video and that is exactly what I already did. But it only shows how to start from scratch with a new installation. As I already have several VMs (running on virtualbox) I don't want to start again completely from scratch (installing OS and setting everything up). I am searching the way how to get these VMs from virtualbox to iohyve...

Thanks and Kind Regards,
Marco

I tried exactly those instructions... using
Code:
VBoxManage clonehd esxi-guest.vmdk image-for-bhyve-volume.raw --format RAW
worked fine (I used it for a vbox .vdi disk image), but I am stuck at grub when getting into the console... see https://forums.freenas.org/index.php?threads/vbox-to-bhyve-stuck-at-grub.49086/ and an iohyve problem at https://github.com/pr1ntf/iohyve/issues/226
I've rolled back to 9.10.1-U4 (I love that ZFS feature, and the Freenas GUI makes it a breeze under the boot menu) in the meantime since I need the VM...
