Hi.
I have a machine with ONE hdd (2TB WD Green), with one volume which has copies=2 set.
I would like to replace the hdd with a mirror of 2x4TB WD greens.
I thought about adding one of the new HDDS to the old one effectively making a mirror,
waiting for resilver to finish and then replacing the old 2TB HDD with a new 4TB one.
The problem is, the volume will still have copies=2.
Any solution?
P.S. I could create a new mirror of the 2 new disks, and then mv the files, but i think it will take ages.

Set copies=1 and then cause the data to be rewritten.

it probably is not worth the bother. I suggest you create a second pool with the two new drives and just copy the data over.

i was hoping for a online solution. if i'll have to copy the data, i'll be forced to take the server offline untill it's finished :(

Depending on what your workload is like, a copy-and-move could work.
