Hi,

I've read a lot here on this topic and on the FreeNAS subreddtit but I can't get it to work. Ok, here's what I want to do:

I want to connect an external 1TB HDD USB 3.0 ext4 formatted drive to my production FreeNAS 11.2-U4.1(please see my signature for hardware details). On this external drive I have some data from my Ubuntu Laptop that I want to copy over to my FreeNAS. I was opening a terminal window on my FreeNAS box and started "mc" to copy the data from the external USB HDD to the FreeNAS box but I don't know where to look or how to mount the external drive.

Thank you very much for your help in advance! :)

Import disk may not be an option due to "Imports of EXT3 or EXT4 filesystems are possible in some cases, although neither is fully supported. . . . EXT4 filesystems with extended attributes or inodes greater than 128 bytes are not supported."

Isn't that exactly what you are looking for?

No not really... I want to mount the usb hdd and then copy some backup files from the usb hdd via midnight commander over to my FreeNAS box. Not the entire disk. But thank you.
