how do you update a plugin?

I see in the gui - plugin mgr a new version of plex is available over what i have installed
but i can't seem to figure out how to upgrade my existing installation.
is it the same process for all jails?

There are at least a couple of threads discussing Plex Media Server upgrades, Plex Media Server, How do I upgrade the Plex Plugin?.

The Plex upgrade path is basically, backup Plex database, delete old plugin, install new plugin, restore Plex database in new Plex plugin jail.

Here is a bit from the Plex wiki that speaks to moving the database, Moving Plex Database.

thanks for the info.
i take it from that upgrade path, that it's going to be unique to the plugin (as in all will have their own special procedure)
to bad we don't just have an "upgrade" button :)
