Always used xenology sinology for my nas server in the past.

Just installed FreeNAS to see if it is any better.

Welcome to the community. I love the Synology for the dead simple point and click setup. But FreeNAS is great if you want a (slightly) less bloated NAS that give you a bit more control. Also there is the perk o running FreeBSD ;)
