Well it feels strange to say this, but like CBRAY and JOESCHMUCK, I guess I'm an old timer now too! (yikes!)
So if you've looked at their introductions my background is similar, from punch cards, Z80, DOS, CP/M, PDP-11, VAX, and nearly every incarnation of UNIX from BSD 4.1 back in the early 80's to what people now call LINUX (Uggghh), VMS, and Windows. I worked on VAX's for DEC back then as a Systems Tech, rebuilt many kernels, designed networks for MCI, and now retired as a Systems Engineer. I also have a background in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and love modding gadgets and love nearly anything technical and science related.
I'm fairly new to FreeNAS, I started using version 8 before it was released, and there's still a lot to learn, but I'm happy to help even if I don't know the answer off the top of my head, I can usually figure it out.
