I have a 6 drive setup. 5 of the HDDs are being used for per-user backups of workstations. I have a 6th drive that I want to use as a redundant backup of all the other drives combined.

Can someone walk me through setting this up?

1) Back up your data
2) Recreate your pool as a single RAIDZ2 volume (RAIDZ1 isn't a great choice).

The question is not clear enough to tell for sure, but it sounds like setting up the single drive as a separate volume and then replicating data to it might be the desired way. Although the capacity of a single drive might be a limiting factor.

Unless the raidz is a backup.

Any sufficiently large pool of unused space eventually ceases to be a backup.
