I'm system engineer, working in IT for years and playing arround with computers/servers when I was child.
I have been playing games with 8 - 16 colors up to real life colors.
My first computer experience was on Commodore64 later on Amiga platform/Mac/IBM x86/....
I have seen allot of different systems, but my first linux experience started with Gentoo. Compiling Kernel/applications to gain performance on old slow computers.
Later on I started playing arround with *BSD systems.
For work I mainly work on Microsoft environments.
As you can see I have width experienced background but that doesn't mean I know everything or can make mistakes.
The reason why I'm joing this forum is to investigate if FreeNAS is the system I want to use for the next couple of years as my main storage solution.
Currently everything is running on old Ubuntu Server with Samba/NFS and other web apps.
It's getting time to upgrade and setup new infrastructure with new technology.
But first I would like to test out system before I'm going to use it and filter out all the issues.
I hope the forum can help me out with the issues where I'm stuck at. ;-)
