Hello,
I have been so fascinated with FreeNAS ever since I first heard of the project (only back in 2013) and I have only recently been taking the first few baby steps towards my own system. I could not believe the things that I read about ZFS and how the OS handles plugins... Windows makes you dumb...
I have been a reader here for a few years now, I have 2 kids and a wife so haven't had any money for those amazing systems that some have talked about but my one and only HDD died on me the other day and I think it's time for that next step.
I am an IT Technician and graduated college with honours. Although I don't hold any certifications I am knowledgeable in hardware, networking, server stuff, as well I am somewhat fluent in Linux.
I love the community that has been built here and look forward to improving my knowledge.
