I've been using FreeNAS for several years now. I first used it to manage the files of a Hospital I used to work. It was a great way to re-use old hardware (IBM SystemX) with some new Hard Drives to serve Samba shares across the 100 computers of the hospital. Never had a problem with it. Now I have a system at home to manage my NextCloud+Plex. I'm currently testing TrueNAS SCALE With Portainer.
