I've been a FreeNAS user for almost 4 years now on various builds, it's time to join the community!
I tested an old FreeNAS build on an Atom D525 system years ago and it was very good, but at home we stuck with Win7 based sharing (not much, just my bro) until 2014 when I built our first true FreeNAS system for storing all our data, it was a 2U rackmount i3-4130T on a Supermicro ITX board with usual M1015 SAS card and 6x3.0TB, worked flawlessly on 9.3-9.10 for 3 years.
This summer I decided to switch to something slimmer (1U) and less power hungry but with the same space and now it is our current system, based on a C2550 Atom and 4x4.0TB.
I have a little knowledge on Linux systems so back in the D525 days I even made some commandline mods to the FreeNAS installation, now everything sets up almost perfectly.
