I really truly hope the answer to this question is "no", however I fear the worst...really upset.

I had a few problems with my Plexplugin / Jails etc.....This is noted in an earlier question.

Anyway...after removing rogue jails and plex plugin i did a zfs scrub :

drwxrwxrwx 5 nobody nogroup 14B Aug 9 04:36 ./
drwxr-xr-x 4 root wheel 512B Aug 9 04:34 ../

I then (and this is where i think i have screwed up) created a ZFS dataset (via the GUI) with the same name/path as directory that contains my photos etc. I also created a Jail

[root@freenas] /mnt/laurelstore# ll
total 113
drwxrwxrwx 6 nobody nogroup 14 Aug 9 09:50 ./
drwxr-xr-x 4 root wheel 512 Aug 9 04:34 ../

-rwxrwxrwx 1 nobody nogroup 186 Dec 23 2013 .login*
-rwxrwxrwx 1 nobody nogroup 91 Dec 23 2013 .login_conf*
-rwxrwxrwx 1 nobody nogroup 301 Dec 23 2013 .mail_aliases*
-rwxrwxrwx 1 nobody nogroup 267 Dec 23 2013 .mailrc*
-rwxrwxrwx 1 nobody nogroup 680 Dec 23 2013 .profile*
-rwxrwxrwx 1 nobody nogroup 212 Dec 23 2013 .rhosts*
-rwxrwxrwx 1 nobody nogroup 909 Dec 23 2013 .shrc*
drwxrwxrwx 2 abonnar abonnar 11 Jun 15 05:00 abonnar/
drwxrwxrwx 2 nobody nogroup 10 Dec 23 2013 guest/
drwxr-xrwx 2 root wheel 2 Aug 9 09:41 media/ <------------------ here
drwxr-xr-x 2 root wheel 2 Aug 9 09:50 pluginjails/

Now it looks like I have lost my data, from the cmd line there is nothing in /mnt/laurelstore/media .....

Have I screwed up ?......I really hope something is recoverable.

From the freenas admin console it still reports 4.4Tb is used (which is correct)

laurelstore4.4 TiB (56%)3.4 TiB7.8 TiBHEALTHY

Really really need some advice......

Thank

I've just read this

NOTE: If you create a dataset in a location where a file or folder exists that file or folder will no longer be accessible. It has not been deleted however and simply deleting the dataset will restore access to the previously inaccessible file or folder.

Can someone please confirm that is true.................please !
