Have a 10 series or older and Hardware Transcoding or GPU not showing up in apps?

Its because the drivers are newer than what supports the card. Basically the 1080 and older are considered Legacy and the nvidia-device-plugin-daemonset pod that enables the card to be used by the apps crashes because of this error stderr: Auto-detected mode as 'legacy'. This is because Nvidia only supports these cards up to driver versions 390 or 418(tesla drivers), and TrueNAS is using 515. The sad part is there is a legacy package for these cards nvidia-legacy-390xx-driver that is in the Debian repositories for the Bullseye release (what TrueNAS 22.12 is based off of).

Hi @omega552003

Even the latest SCALE release (23.10) uses 535.54.03, which has only dropped support for pre-Maxwell cards. Bluefin uses a 515 driver, but in either case your Pascal based 10-series should be fully supported.

Does nvidia-smi correctly detect and identify your card?

In the base linux it is recognized just fine, but with the Kubernetes the nvidia container errors out due to the card being considered a "legacy" GPU
