After a few weeks of steady running with just running tests and getting hard drives 'settled in', we have started seeing hardware errors.

We have managed to troubleshoot flashing the card, fighting CIFS shares and have got to about 100MB/sec transfer speeds and were feeling pretty chuffed and that we could start to use the system in anger. We are feeling a bit overwhelmed and would appreciate advice where to start / how to go about troubleshooting and how to regain confidence to go live on the system.

As the machine is completely locked up (requiring a hard reset to do anything) I took photos of the console. We are researching and learning FreeNAS and have modest expertise (collectively), but this is our first system to use as a big FreeNAs server.

Please post your hardware specs and the FreeNAS build (from System -> Info, if you can get in there).

A bit more on problems:

When I came in this morning, there were error messages on the screen (see image below). Pressing enter goes back to the regular menu list and all appears normal. Yesterday I ran 'zpool status -x' and the system reported that all was ok.

I have the logs, how can I best make them available here without exceeding the character limit in a message?

Cheers

Those errors have to do with Samba.
