I'm building my nas for the first time and I Newegg has a very good price on Seagate NAS HDD ST4000VN00, is this a good hd, I like to buy 4 of them and do a raidz1.

Raidz1 is not recommended please use raidz2 or higher. Also read the noob guide. Those HDD are fine most people around here like wd or hgst.

Love my WD Red drives. I have had a few bad experiences with Seagate (not the model you mentioned) but have never had an issue with WD.
