gitlab plugin installation

Hi,

Did any one had any luck with the community gitlab plugin on Truenas 12.0 core?
Installation goes through fine but the gitlab page doesn't open and throughs a 404 not found.

Because the community plugin is buggy. I ended up installing my own in the jail.
I was able to re-install GitLab based on 12.2-RELEASE on TrueNas Core 12.0 Based on this guide.
The only changes were to add the jail IP in the host (gitlab.yml)
And enabling the sshd service for ssh cloning of the repos!
It has boosted the speed and very very responsive now :)

I am a noob in this and would really appreciate a bit of direction doing the manual installation.

I tried with no success (lack of deftness).

Are you able to provide me with a more noobie-friendly step by step guide?

I found myself here when I updated the jail in FreeNAS 11.3.U5 then my gitlab jail just stopped working.

I removed it and re-installed a fresh one... still no joy.

Then I upgraded to TrueNAS 12.0.... still no joy!

I am at my wits end...

Wow! Thanks for a swift response!

I tried to follow the guide in the link but no joy as it installed the gitlab service but nothing else.
The database service appeared to be missing.

Background:
I tried to install the gitlab plugin in TrueNAS which completed successfully but the gitlab page returns 404
I shelled into the jail and tried to follow the guide from there...

Is this the correct approach?

you need create an empty jail first. then run pkg update and pkg upgrade.
then follow all the instructions from this guide: https://gitlab.fechner.net/mfechner/Gitlab-docu/-/blob/master/install/12.2-freebsd.md
and then see how you get on. if you have any issues then post here

So do I uninstall the current Plugin in Jail and then create a new Jail, and then use the shell to do the installation?

I moved away from this because it was very difficult to maintain. I started using gitlab in docker managed by k3s
