Getting disk serial - mapping gptid to mfituil ?

I have a failed drive in a FreeNas server hosted at OVH. I need to get the drive swapped, but i'm extremely conscious of them pulling the wrong drive.

FreeNas isn't reporting any serial numbers in it's GUI. I have done the below so far, I don't know how to map the device to the drive serial.

smartctl -a will show you serial numbers. But since you are using a raid card who knows what you are going to get. You should get a proper HBA before you lose your data.

This is a temporary server until i shift a few things in our rack and purchase a new server - it's a backup server so it's not mission critical.

smartctl is showing nothing useful due to the LSI raid card. Everything is in passthru at the moment.

Is there any other way to map the two together?

Failing that can i detect the dead disk from mfiuttl, megacli, or from the raid bios if i reboot?

This is why you can't is raid cards, plus the data loss thing. If this isn't mission critical rebuild it because I'm my eyes you don't have a backup.

Other than that I have no clue how you get the serial numbers. How do you replace a drive when it's in a raid? Try your raid card manual?
