"Game's over, losers! I have all the cores. Compare your boxes to mine and then kill yourselves."

Xeon E5-2697v2. 12 cores. 2.7 GHz, turbo to 3.5. 128GB. Supermicro 4U chassis with X9DR7-TF+. Totally awesome. Geekbench score, 32309.

Time to have some ESXi fun now. I wonder what I can do with a box big enough to host both a NAS and still have tons of resources left over.

I'll take it over a Mac Pro 2013 any day. Because, really, unlike the Mac Pro, mine's half empty and I could toss another 12 cores in there.

With all that horsepower, perhaps you could nest ESXi and virtualize your ESX(i?) 4.x environment. ;)

FSCKING AWESOME! See, now there's a smart guy. I could take three of our ESXi nodes and collapse them onto a single host! Then when the big one PSOD's, they all go out

But seriously now, that has some interesting possibilities.

Currently playing with HP DL580 G7, 4x Xeon E7-4870, 40 cores in total, 512GB memory (upgradable to 2TB). Actually, 3 of them :). However, I won't get chance installing FreeNAS, the boxes will run in-memory databases.

I'm running a dual-core Pentium D if it makes you feel any better.

Forlorn? You're bad at telling emotions lol. She's concerned. Concerned for all the lost production zpools from noobs not running ECC RAM.

I can't even see your avatar. I get the "broken image" icon.

Your pron filter is probably blocking images of pretty women.

I *rhink* she's sad since she stuck in Nebraska instead of being able to bask in the sun on a warm beach.

Nebraska, I realized that I know nothing about the State other than maybe commercials about steak. Quick Wikipedia search lists industry "Kool-Aid was created in 1927 by Edwin Perkins in the city of Hastings, which celebrates the event the second weekend of every August with Kool-Aid Days. Kool-Aid is the official soft drink of Nebraska" <= Now there I believe is the real reason to be sad, despondant...

I have no pron filter. I do have an ad filter or three. So it could be that domain is blocked on my end.

Nebraska. Alliance, a nice place to stop with inexpensive hotels if you happen to be headed from Rapid City down to Denver. North Platte, home of the Union Pacific Bailey Yard, largest of its type in the world. Fun to follow the tracks east along 30 to Omaha. Nice scenic state but also a lot of nothing inbetween the interesting stuff.
