Someone who is helping me with an ftp issue has requested the ftp logs from the server but I can’t figire out where to view them or to get the files to send to the guy.

The ftp logs, from the FreeNAS service, should be under /var/log/xfer.log or similar.

EDIT: That should read, /var/log/xferlog

Sir, are you saying you don't know to get around in Unix? You should have just told me that.

Go to the "shell" in the GUI,
when you're at the shell, type "cd /var/log"
then type "cat xferlog". That should show the log for the ftp server.

There are other logs there as well, the general messages log, which may be relevant, is at "messages", so once you're in that directory, you can hit "cat messages".

Oh ok, yes I didn’t know how to get around in Unix and didn’t know about the logs location path. Thank you for your help.
