Hi all,
Sorry, I'm admittedly a newb, but I'm working on learning more! I recently had a drive report smart errors, but it was a WD black that wasn't designed for NAS work and I didn't know about a change that I needed to make to the drive (I'm forgetting what it was now) until it was too late(ish) and the drive was already on it's way out. The other three drives are WD Reds, and the fourth replacement drive is a HGST.
Anyhow, I replaced the black with the HGST and resilvered. All went swimmingly. Now, a couple of weeks later I have a couple of drives reporting smart errors from the dashboard:
So I jumped into the shell and ran "smartctl -a /dev/ada_" for all four drives. Below is a copy of that information. If anyone sees something I don't, or has any ideas on how to fix this that would be GREAT! :)
I hope my disks are still ok, though I think the reds are all still under warranty with WD so I can easily RMA them if need be.
