FreeNas Permissions issue. Cannot get access to anything without wheel group

Currently I cannot access any of my pool with SMB or FTP when not a part of the wheel group.

I have modified the ACL's to allow for my user and my users group as well as the ftp but although I have done that, I still cannot get access. I had it all working originally and then all of a sudden one day it all went awry and I don't know what caused it.

It seems that when I change the ACL's nothing is applied. The only thing I can manage to get working again is my PLEX server by adding user 972 to my Media DIR but nothing else seems to take hold.

The datasets are all owned by root and grouped in wheel except for gshoe which is controlled by the FTP user and group. I am trying to assign to an FTP account for a friend. I have tried changing these and still had no change in access.

Pool-1 contains all the datasets and OttoStorage contains all but gshoe which sits at the top alongside OttoStorage so I shouldn't have anything blocking my access wise unless I somehow borked my permission assignment?
