Hi,
I have a Dell R510 server with 8 HGST 3 TB 7.2k drives installed. The server has 2 quad core intel CPUS, 16GB of ram and the Dell H200 raid card. I have read that the H200 will pass drives it has not configured into a raid configuration to the OS. This seems to be the case as FreeNas can see 7 of the Hard drives, CentOS and Windows installed on the same server to test to see if these operating systems could see the drives was successful...both operating systems could see all 8 hard drives and could interact with them. The 6th drive(bay 5) is the drive that will not show up in Freenas. I have swapped out the drive in that bay with a different known working drive and it still was unable to see the drive. I have just started using FreeNas and I am new to server hardware so I am unsure how to diagnose this problem. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
