Do I have to dedicate one whole drive for FreeNAS, or can i use some of it as my storage space?

No, FN needs to be installed independent of your storage. It's recommended that you install it on a flash drive.

Please re-read the manual, before continuing. Also, read Cyberjock's guide. Reading them should prevent configuration mistakes that you might regret later.
