The carp is available at the FreeNAS 8.3 Beta version! But I can not use CARP with HAST, to configure a failover effective!

The CARP module is included but not loaded by default in FreeNAS 8.3.0 beta 2. Otherwise it's entirely DIY.

Good day

You know i feel so s%%t for requesting the carp module. But I just haven’t had the chance to do any testing. Here where I work, we are on a massive project to implement and make use of Puppet.

But having said that, im so glad im not the only person that is in need of HA'ing FreeNAS. I really do believe, having that feature, will add some real value to your product, and really be great for the community.

Just out of interest, may I ask why is carp not enabled by default?
Dont you think given that 8.3.0 is still beta, all the more reason to enable it, for during your testing phase.

Not activated the module by default because CARP is already loaded in the KERNEL. So there is no need to reload!

I believe there's no actual attempt to create CARP support, so including the module is just to save a step for the DIYers.
