I currently setup a NAS on an old computer, but I feel like the read/write speeds are slow. I am looking to build a new NAS mainly for file storage on my home network, but I would like to also give my clients access to the NAS via Nextcloud. I made a list of parts that I am thinking about using to build the system at https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ghq3J8. I'd like to get some feedback and/or suggestions on my parts list since I am somewhat new to this.

That i5 has more horsepower than you need for file serving.
It also doesn’t support ECC memory. To fix that would mean an i3 or Pentium, and a different motherboard and ECC, of course.

Running without ECC isn’t the end of the world. It just means an increased risk of catastrophic data loss. Be sure you are 100% a-ok with losing everything stored on that machine, because you have another copy elsewhere - cloud storage, or another form of backup.
