Hey Guys,

Simple question.. My Freenas build is FreeNAS-8.0.4-RELEASE-x64 (10351) but my OS is FreeBSD 8.2-RELEASE-p6

I want to upgrade to 8.3, what is the difference and what file do I need to upgrade to?

I was going to upgrade in OS using 8.3 .XZ version, is that correct?

Just want to double check... important data

:)

FreeNAS is based on FreeBSD, for upgrading you only need to care about the FreeNAS Version - 8.0.4 in your case.

The correct upgrade package should be FreeNAS-8.3.0-RELEASE-x64.GUI_Upgrade.xz.
- xz, because you are upgrading from a version < 8.2
- 64 bit, because you are already running a 64bit build

With this, you are upgrading your FreeNAS from 8.04 to 8.3 (via Web-GUI).
