Freenas 8x SMTP mail server

Hello,

Just wondering if it is possible to set up my NAS to include an SMTP / POP email server that would be visible (send to) by my friends?

Any advice or pointers are appreciated.

It's possible, but not practical or simple to do, plus you risk your NAS being hacked and something happening to your files.

Cool, FreeNAS not best way.

Any suggestions on a mail server? Also, is it worth having a personal server? I ask because when I move house, I sometimes have to change ISP, hence change of e-mail address. Then I have to notify all poeple & companies I deal with of changed address.
