I changed one day the language settings on WebGui to greek, and on next reboot I have been getting on the console
just after displaying choice 8 (reset to factory defaults) without showing up choices 9-11 this:

getty repeating too quickly on port /dev/ttyv0, sleeping 30 secs

and the console recycled constantly.

I logged on to the web gui, and when reverted language to english it stopped and went normal.
This is what showed up on web console:

In the old days this used to be caused by a bad serial connection. Did you check your keyboard and mouse connections?

Sadly announce that on FreeNAS-8.2.0-RELEASE-p1-x64 (r11950) this strange error is still there :(

I encountered the same problem when I changed it to Chinese. But I found a solution for it!
When you ever change a language of the WebGUI, the system kinda change the that of text terminal also.

Just as some of you can ssh and perform /etc/netcli, you might see 9) Shell 10) Reboot 11) Shutdown have been changed to the language you have set.

While in FreeNAS, there's not any font under /usr/share/syscons/fonts, so I guess this makes the terminal not know how to layout other languages than English.

I simply edited (via ee) /conf/base/etc/netcli in three steps.
1. Use mount -o rw /dev/ufs/FreeNASs1a / to remount the 1st partition as writable, or you cannot change the content of netcli.
2. Search and locate "Shell,
3. Change Shell, Reboot, Shutdown (in menu code piece) to SHELL, REBOOT, SHUTDOWN.

Now every time FreeNAS boots, /conf/base/etc/netcli is copied to /etc/netcli. And SHELL, REBOOT, SHUTDOWN will not be translated into other languages than English. And "getty repeating ... on port" has been fixed!
