Running this on a fairly old HP Proliant Computer, the NAS is on an unmanaged switch with the mac I'm trying to connect it with.
I followed these instructions (for guest sharing) precisely: http://doc.freenas.org/index.php/Apple_(AFP)_Shares.
The mac can see the NAS, but attempts to connect result in a request a username/password instead of asking to authenticate. Selecting guest, and the Mac fails to mount the drive. Tried to make a new user and group with permissions, but no luck,
On failure to connect the NAS displays, "freenas afpd[4798]: dsi_stream_read: len:0, unexpected EOF".
Same/similar error for version 8.0.4

(Just to confirm the service is configured AND AFP is running)
Any thoughts?
