Hello,
I am a new user of FreeNAs. I have set up a system with 9.2.1 64 bit with 8GB memory. I have put there couple of 3 GB disk and raid them for full copy (RAID 1).
The system is in use for quite some time with no special problems, recently due to power outage - I have experience a problem with the ability to save data into these disks.
I can copy files from any pc to this volume (from PC disk to freenas volume) but one it is on the Freenas - it becomes read only file and I cannot update it any more.

Can any one help . I can add more data if needed, just do not know what .

Thanks
Igal

i don't know what's happening - but why are you on 9.2.1 and not 9.10 ?
also there is no raid 1 in freenas so it is probably a mirror you have.

i would check your permissions and ensure they are how they should be.

Thanks,
Yes - it was mirror of the disks.
Any way I think that I have set the permissions correctly as it was working in the last 18 months.
The wiered fact is that you can save the file for the first time (new file) and then it becomes a read only file...

I wonder if some one encounter into this issue before...

Thanks
Igal

you said you recently had a problem with a power outage - have you checked that the permissions are set correctly?

yes have checked it.
I have attached the "change permissions" windows, so you can see what I mean, might be that I have a mistake ?

Thanks
Igal

try deselecting a box, then reselecting and then hit the change button - this may re-register your permissions

also the freenas version you have is over 2 years old - is there any reason why you haven't updated ?

Thanks!
Looks like re-selecting the permissions did the trick. All new files stored in the NAS can be updated.
Some files are still "read only" ones - but it can be managed.
Thanks!
