External Backup: rsync providers

Hello guys.
I have the freenas already running. Great.

Now, I'm looking for an external backup solution.

1. Rsync: I read that this was the perfect solution. But I cand find a rsync provider that doesn't cost too much. Any ideas?


If I can't find a low cost rsync provider...
2. What is the best way to do regular (once a month) backup to an external hard drive?
I will have to connect and disconnect the HD every time I do this.

That's easy, Rsync.

and,
can you chose the folders that you want to backup? to just backup the folders that I want and not the whole sever?

Sorry I can't recommend any providers, I'm too paranoid to trust my data with anyone.

You can choose the folders, but you need to initiate it from the command line. There are several discussions here about it, do a search with rsync and backup.
