Hello all,
I'm studying for my mvware certs and looking to add shared storage for use with vMotion, HA, ect. i Will have a basic home lab setup with probably a dozen vms between the two esx servers. Hoping for speed, speed and more speed, with reasonable reliability. I did do a good bit of reading yesterday, but would like a bit of reassurance from the general public here. Considering the following:

MB (enough horse power? didnt really find anyone using) xeon d1518: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FYD9TT0/?tag=ozlp-20
Ram: 32GB ecc (2) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FM3GM5G/?tag=ozlp-20
boot: adata DOM 16gb(2) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DN1HOW4/?tag=ozlp-20
cable:nvme to sas https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AOS4U4O/?tag=ozlp-20
case (already have): norco 24 bay https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BQY3916/?tag=ozlp-20
cpu fan: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VXTANZ4/?tag=ozlp-20
drives: (4, raid 10, sandisk ultra 2 960gb) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00M8ABHVQ/?tag=ozlp-20

Should provide about 1.7 tb and 30,000 iops. Thoughts, concerns, comments? Also considering add some wd reds for backup, ect.
Thanks for your time

I cant say that i read all of the ones you have listed, but i did read a number of docs here, included the current hardware recommendations pdf. In addition i did a number of searches for esxi, found more about nesting than i did about dedicated with flash. Originally i was going to go with (8) HGST 4tb NAS, but then i figured (4) sandisk would be less $ and provide better response times.
