The updater hangs on 67% for a long time then comes up with the error above.

Current Version:
FreeNAS-11.3-U5

Suggestions welcome.

Thank you.

I've had the same issue for quite some time when I update freenas versions. And just now had the same error when I updated Truenas 12.0 to 12.0-U1. I don't know what the fix is but a workaround is to reboot when the error message pops up. Afterwards, the new version comes up and seems to have installed without any issues.

I have the same issue. Updating 12.0 U2 to U2.1
Rebooted and the update seems to have worked going by the Dashboard info.
The update page lists the software as 12.0 Stable, is that correct, or should it say U2.1?

"Current Train: TrueNAS-12.0-STABLE - Release Train for TrueNAS 12.0 [release]"

I have gotten this error with every update for the past year or so. Rebooting after the update always comes up with the new version installed. Last time this happened I just reinstalled a fresh version of the OS and then imported my settings file, still get the error.

This still happening.

Update gets to 100% now though but still then fails with the out of range error.

Restarting after receiving the error and seems to then install the update.

Just happened updating from 13-U3 to 13-U3.1 and had to manually reboot. It's been happening for a long time. Minor enough that I never dig into it.

I continuously get this error each time I update my system. Currently it reoccurred with the update from 13.0-U5 to 13.0-U5.1. Everytime I rebbot TrueNAS manually, the system is working fine with the new version. Nevertheless I would like to get rid of this error...

Did anybody resolve this error?

Any hint would be welcome. Thanks in advance!

I'm getting this error on TrueNAS SCALE when attempting to upgrade TrueNAS-22.12.3.3 -> TrueNAS-22.12.4.1

So far I haven't found a workaround. I've tried rebooting but new version was not installed, and I also tried 'Install Manual Update File' however the error occurs for that aswell.

The fix for me was to remove /var/db/system/update/update.sqsh and try again (that file was showing as having errors in the output of 'zpool status -v')
