I checked my bios and I have 1.0 installed. I had a heck of a time installing Freenas and still get some initial beeps on startup. It seems to be running stable though. Memtest86 for 46 hours. I know this doesn't stress the CPU. I think I will try burnin????? I think thats what it was called.
My main question for you though is the Bios. My board supports 3.0 USB and only has 3.0 USB ports. My case has 4 external ports with 2 being USB 3.0 and 2 being 2.0 USB connector. Unfortunately the board itself has no USB 2.0 headers.
The USB ports are killing me. I feel like some power on and off indescriminantly. I would understand if it were the case ports but the MB ports. Sometimes mouse and keyboard work and sometimes they don't. Same with the USB stick which was a 2.0 Sandisk 16gb stick. I was able to get around it finialy in the bios by having the USB stick as Legacy and after the install I had to switch everything back to UFUI???? dual boot. Dual boot did not seem to recognize the USB stick.
Long story, but do you think this is a bios issue, a 3.0 issue (I heard freenas doesn't like 3.0 ports/sticks) or lastly and most sadly, a motherboard issue.
Thanks in advance
Ken
