Enabling sync on a datastore

I just set up a volume called "datastore" with a zvol called "datastore1" and wanted to enable sync on it because I will be using it as an ESXi iSCSI datastore . I wanted to double check, the command would be "zfs set sync=standard datastore". I've read through threads saying to set sync=enabled but when I do that the error I get is 'sync' must be one of 'standard | always | disabled'. Are enabled and standard the same thing?

You want "sync=always". You want each write to be written sync to the ZIL.
