Do replicated snapshots get automatically purged on the destination?

This could be a pretty basic question, but looking at my "B" server, I saw that there were hundreds of snapshots that were replicated from my "A" server.

2 questions in mind:

1. Do these snapshots take space? With ZFS, I don't think so, as long as there are no significant changes in content between them.
2. Is there a mechanism to automatically purge older ones, and thereby keeping more recent ones. Looking for something similar to the replication tasks on the "A" side where it only keeps last 2 weeks in my configuration.
