Do I need new jails on each ZPool?

Afternoon fellas. Quick question from a complete noob.
I know I can have more than one Zpool, but do I need to put the same jails on the new pool as I did on the first?

I currently have a 4TB mirror with a jail for Plex media server on it. It contains all my movies and music on it, but it's a touch overloaded at 94% full, so I want to add a second 1TB mirror and move all my music over to it. Do I need to go through the same exact process I went through with the first pool and install the Plex jailplugin once more?

If I understand you correctly:

No. Make your new 1TB mirror as a new pool, then, in the GUI, click "add storage" to the EXISTING jail, input the directory to the new 1TB pool mountpoint. Move files as needed. Done.

I've added the new mirrored 1TB pool and it's showing as a Windows share, however in Plex media server I can only add folders from the 4TB pool. I'm presuming I've done something wrong with the plugin jail, but I can't think what.



I'm selecting the new Pool in the Jail/add storage/source window and media in the destination window. Am I doing something wrong or missing a step?

I'm not sure what you're saying is wrong. What is the output of "zpool status" (on the FREENAS side, not in the jail).

Something is wrong. YOu said you had a 4TB pool. You stated that were going to add a 1TB to it, presumably as a new pool.

I see only one pool. There has been a miscommunication somewhere. What, PRECISELY, have you done? I think you may be using words in ways that are not correct, and thus confusing me :)

I needed to add a new output directory, rather than selecting the existing media directory, like so...

Nope, I'm pretty sure I've got the two pools set up correctly. The 4TB one is called Movies and Music and the 1TB one is just called Music, as in the below screenshot

Sorry I'm not sure what I explained incorrectly to confuse you. I'm afraid I'm new to this

I have the shares and plex working ok, but are you saying it looks like I have my ZPools set up incorrectly? I think I am confused now!
