Different file formats

I am seeing some deep questions on file formats in my searches. Can I have groups/users with dedicated file formats? Like one user saving files on a share from a Windows machine and another user from a Linux machine? I assume they would have their mapped drive on their native machine going to a different group in the NAS.

Actually you mean share methods.

Linux can use SMB shares, same as MS-Windows.

Thank you for the clarification Arwen. It led me to dig deeper into share methods. This helped me a lot.
