Request: the ability to set DHCP parameters (the ones normally put in /etc/dhclient.conf) so that they are retained on upgrades.

Rationale: I use DHCP parameters to control machine behaviour in my network.

Example: all machines in my network use DHCP. But some (like my FreeNAS box) benefit from having the same ip address all the time. I fix that by having my DHCP server give out a "static lease" for such machines. How does the DHCP server know how to do that?
Because I put a dhcp client identifier in /etc/dhclient.conf, like this:
send dhcp-client-identifier "my-machine.example.org";
