I wouldn't imagine this to be problematic as long as you are very careful to set it up as AHCI mode in the BIOS. The modern Intel controllers are not problematic that I've heard of, you have to go back to the 1.5/3Gbps stuff to get some weird problems. Intel started doing "value add" RAID in software stuff that is incompatible with FreeBSD and probably Linux too, not to mention incompatible with ZFS, but the solution to that is just not to use the RAID mode.
