Hello,

I'm looking for a controller to put in a proliant DL380 G6 to replace the integrated P410i controller.
I could get for about 50€ a Dell perc h200 that could be flashed to LSI 9211-8i.
I also found some M1015 bit a bit more expensive (about 70€).

My question: can I get the cheaper one (i.e. the perc h200) and flash it. Or shall I rather go for a M1015 (but it's the same hardware-wise isn't it? and it will require some flashing too as well if I'm correct?)?

I'll have to check the PCIe ports available in the server to see if the card fits of course... ;-)

Thanks.

They're both the same, just labeled Dell or IBM. Once you cross flash it to 9211, they're identical.

I think the difference is that they are built in different fabrication plants. The chipset (hardware) is the same and as @m0nkey_ said, once you flash the firmware, they are functionally identical even if cosmetically they look different.
Another option to consider is the Dell H310 controller. It is also comparable with a slightly different physical layout of the components on the board.

Thanks for your feedback and the confirmation that they are equivalent. That's good to know.
I'll check the H310 as well.
