Dataset Bug

Hello,


At each time I create a Dataset and try to using through the ISCSI protocol

I get tones of messages like the one in my screen shot

I have tried most of FreeNas versions and getting the same error


Please help me to find a solution!

You need to create a zvol for use with iscsi

What Linda said. Either you meant zvol and typed dataset, or you didn't setup iSCSI properly. The WebGUI won't let you choose a dataset for setting up iSCSI. So if you somehow think you did that, then you made two mistakes.. tried to use a dataset and thought you setup iSCSI properly. ;)

Hello Thanks for your reply

actual i created the data set on the storage level

then i went to the iscsi tab and configured a file extent under the dataset (thos is what i called the dataset)
may be i didn't choose the correct word

Please correct me if i did any mistake

Then you aren't storing your iSCSi on a dataset. You're storing it in a file.

No mistake that I see, but there's tons of ways to still get it wrong. I'd give the manual a once-over and validate all of your settings.

Note : the i'm able to connect to the ISCSI and work with the LUN

but still getting those error messages
