dashboard inaccurate bandwidth report

the dashboard is very inaccurate, can i improve its accuracy?

most of the time it display values such as
up 0.0013 MBps
down 0.0013 MBps
but most of the time it between 200-1000GB s

i must note the main load is not on the primary nic


primary nic is 1 gb on board nic, that is used for mainly control\ssh
the secondary mellanox 40gb used for the actual load

There are some fixes coming in U2 (due out later this week) and more in U3.

Hey Iliak,
I'm running U2 and this issue you mention is still present.

I was streaming a 4GB video file directly from a share of the Freenas server. My computer indicated a throughput of 50Mbps (6MBps) while the values on the dashboard only indicate this:

0.0041 MBps download
0.9749 MBps upload


U3 is scheduled in 16 days and I hope it will fix a lot of things. Currently jail networking is completely broken as configuring a fixed IP will not even create a NIC in the jail.

just upgraded to U3. still the dashboard bandwidth widget shows only main interface (in my use case the main interface is used only to control and the second interface handle the heavy load)

Personally I’ve abandonned FreeNas. Too many bugs and features missing (« scheduled in next release »).
I’m just running ubuntu server with samba and the other services i need (unifi controller, plex, etc).
It’s a bit more difficult to set up but it’s much more stable then freenas in my opinion
