Currently unreadable (pending) sectors

Helol,

i am getting many of these errors on my new servers. These are 16fb Toshiba MG08 that are about 9 months old.

it started by 1 disk a couple weeks ego, now @ couple are showing the symptom.
short and long smart tests shows no errors ,!!!

zfs health is green
Pool Status: Online
Total ZFS Errors: 0

Disk health is green
Disks temperature related alerts: 0
Highest Temperature: 40.159 °C
Lowest Temperature: 20 °C
Average Disk Temperature: 27.098 °C
Failed S.M.A.R.T. Tests: 0


I am running scale 22.12.3.2…

what should I do?

I would be surprised, based on the subject line, if your SMART tests are showing nothing at all...

can you share the output of smartctl -a for each of those disks?

Well, the internal information you have from each of those disks confirms they are not going in a good direction.

You might hang on to sda a bit longer and just watch carefully that the numbers don't increase, but those other 2 are already too high, if they are young drives and still under warranty, it's time for them to go back... RTM.

Separately, I've also been seeing these "pending sectors" errors on my SSDs after a more-recent TrueNAS SCALE v22 upgrade. I'm not sure anything's failing though.

What are you looking for in particular in the SMART data?

I have some recently-purchased used HDDs showing it, and a bunch of Crucial MX500 SSDs, even brand-new ones.
