It has been some time since I made my present system Freenas 11.1-U7 with 10 12 TB disks... I want to extend the storage of this system now So I am thinking :
Either to add disks to the present Vdev RAidz2 or to create a new Vdev from the new disks 10 x 20 TB .... that needs to be Raidz2 as well correct?

Have done some reading but did not find a clear answer.. Afraid of losing too much disk capacity...
Any Ideas? Or usefull reading suggestions?
Thanks in advance

This isn't possible. You can replace the disks, one by one, with larger disks, but you can't add disks to a vdev (other than to turn an n-way mirror into an n+1-way mirror).

It doesn't need to, but it's strongly recommended.
