CPU and System load

At what point does CPU and System load become problematic/too high?

So far the highest CPU usage i have reached is 40% across dual E5530 @ 2.40Ghz , the system load spikes up to 8.0 , it is usually sitting between 0 and 2

EDIT: The only jail i have is Plex Media Server

Take the total number of cores you have. If your system load is typically above this, then your CPU is bottlenecking. For example, I have a dual core G3220. So anytime I see a load average above 2.0, I have more than my CPU can handle.

Fortunately, this has never occurred in the history of my NAS.

Honestly, unless the server can't do what you want it to do, who cares if its 5% or 95%? If its doing what I need it to do in the required time, that's all I care about.

Answer seems simple enough, right? :P

Thanks @DrKK and @cyberjock i figured they're nothing to worry about, i was only orried about system load itself. When scrubbing i see the system load reach 5 or so. But yea seems simple enough for now lol
