Could this build work?

Hi everyone, I'm new in this community and I'm trying to use freeNas to save postgres database backup and share some files.


I want to share the build I have right now to know if I will have to chage parts or move to another build

MOBO ECS G41T-M7 v1.0
CPU INTEL PENTIUM E5700 3.0 GHZ
RAM 8GB DDR3 MHZ 2x4 XMS3 CORSAIR
SSD KINGSTON A400 120GB
HDD 4TB MAX - 2TB EACH I think will be 2TB only
LAN 1GBIT TP-LINK TG-3468 PCI EXPRESS

I haven't istalled the system yet, so I cannot give you more accurate info.

Im new with freeNas and is the first time with NAS systems aswell so, thanks in advance for let me be part of this community.

Have you read cyberjock, jgreco, and Ericloewe's collective hardware recommendation guide yet? Here is a link to the article, here is a link to the document it currently references. However, I'd go the article in case he updates the document at some point.

Anyhow, it's not clear to me that you're using Error-Correcting Code (ECC) Memory. It is recommended for ZFS. There are some great low-cost boards out there like the C2750D4I from Asrock that iXysystems uses in its Mini and Mini XL. That's where I would start for a low-cost but powerful FreeNAS system.
