Hello to all
I am a little bit new to all this, and just decided to give this FreeNAS thing a go, but I guess I'm stuck at the 2nd step.
Also tried googling about this issue, but all I've found were some posts from 2014-ish with no real answers or solutions.
The version in question is 11.2-RELEASE-U1
Hardware:
So, basically, my questions would be:
- Does anyone have any hints , or if i missed any treads which already handle this can point me in the right direction?
- Do I really "need" the new interface, and would it make my life as a new used easier?
Thank you to all, and have an amazing day.

Hardware:
- Gigabyte A88X chipset board + AMD A8 + 8Gb DDR3
- IBM M1015 in IT mode (but i guess this isn't really relevant now)
- Originally used onboard Realtec NIC ; later added Intel I340 card I had laying around
- I update the IP and Subnet mask to match my LAN. Try to ping it from windows, and all works fine so far.
- Then i try to connect via firefox ; chrome and all return the same message "Connecting to NAS... Make sure the NAS system is powered on and connected to the network"
- I tried resetting the configuration 5 times to re-set for each of the LAN ports.
- Disabled all and any anti virus/firewall + adblockers in browsers ; still the same
