We got 'heavy machine' with an AMD EPYC 7262 8-Core Processor. (16 THREADS), (it has an extreme disk config)
And a backup system Intel(R) Xeon(R) Bronze 3104 CPU @ 1.70GHz (6 THREADS). (it contains 2 simple stripe sets).
The CPU utilization of the heavy system during the workday is low on average around 3 %
The CPU utilization of the Xeon (no user connections) is even lower.
I was thinking is it possible to select some high compression pool setting (which one?) on the heavy machine.
Then for the backup machine just sync the already compressed snapshot (no need to re-compress it again right ?).
